Ben-isms
At church this week Pastor Rick was talking about evangelism. As he was closing up his message he asked the question “How many of you think you will fill a stadium preaching like Billy Graham? Raise your hand.” Ben’s hand shot up and he said “I can do that.” The joys of being 5 years old and not afraid of anything.
The other day I asked Ben what he was going to be when he grows up, just to see if it has changed, it hasn’t. He says “I’m going to be a rock star for Jesus!” As long as you live your life for Jesus, Ben, you can be anything!

“I can do all things…..
through Christ who gives me strength.” (Phil. 4:13).
This is what I was saying as the evenings events unfolded. We went to soccer and then went out for a quick bite to eat with Grandma Barb and Papa Al. As we were sitting in McDonald’s, Ben decides that he’s had “too much sugar and I’m sick”. I figured he was just tired and that proved true when he fell asleep on the bench while we where all eating.
Papa Al carries him out to the car and as he’s buckling Ben in, Ben pukes all over Papa Al. He also pukes all over himself, his carseat and my car. As Papa Al went and “walked it off” (trying not to puke also), I got Ben back settled into his carseat and we went on our way home.
I’m not the puke parent in this family, Walter is, but Walter is gone this week so I have to deal, I have to be the puke parent. So as we travel home, in the cold fall weather, with the heater full blast and the car windows down to keep the puke smell down to a minimum, I kept repeating Philippians 4:13 – I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. I know it’s true, I know He will, just as He has at other times.

WFMW – Backwards Addition
So my question for you all is how do I break my daughter of her pacifier habit. She’s two and only uses it at home, and mostly just in the morning or for naps and at bedtime. When she’s at other people’s houses she doesn’t use it to sleep, but with us she does. In July she went a whole week without it while she was at my moms! When she gets upset she immediately ask for her “paci”. What’s worked for you?
Head on over to Shannon’s to see more great questions that you might be able to answer for someone!

Super Hero
Ben loves super heroes. He’s always talking about them and pretending to be one. Spiderman used to be his favorite, but now it’s his own super hero he’s made up. One that has a cape and flies, but still has Spiderman’s climbing capabilities. Around here we call him “Super-Spidey-BennyMan”. He climbs high up on the swing set, leaps the three steps in our living-room in a single bound and sometimes thinks outside of the box to come up with a new way to fly.
A few weeks ago we bought a mini-trampoline for the kids. We thought it would be great for this winter when it’s too cold to go outside, they can jump and bounce in the living-room. We’ve had it outside and it has sat on the patio where the kids have learned to scream “it’s mine” share nicely with each other. But as I was cooking dinner the other night I looked out the window and this is what I saw:
I guess he wanted to take his super powers to a new level. Of course my first reaction was to have Walter go out and stop him, but not without taking the camera and getting a few pictures of it first.
Ben soon found out that it didn’t give him the flying capabilities that he wanted. And luckily we didn’t have an ER trip with a broken leg, arm or head. He jumped a few times and as he ran in the house for an all important Super Hero potty break I asked him how it was going. He simply replied “It’s not working”. And with that he went outside to find his next Super-Spidey-BennyMan adventure.
