hmmm…I don’t think you sang that correctly, son
Tonight we where having us a little family worship time. We were singing our favorite children’s songs. The kids love the song “Lord’s Army” All of a sudden Ben starts singing the song with different words.
I may never eat a chili taco
Ride a donkey oh, so, slow
Take a nap in ol’ Mexico
I may never wear a big sombrero
But I’m in the Lord’s Army! Arriba!
Somehow I just don’t think the song is politically correct that way, son.
___________
Until tonight this is how we sang the song:
I may never march in the infantry,
Ride in the calvery,
Shoot the artilary,
I may never zoom over the enemy, but
I’m in the Lord’s Army – Yes Sir.

“I helps”
I’ve been hearing this a lot lately. Anything that we do, Missy Becca wants to be right in the middle of it “helping”. It takes extreme patience on my part to let her help, because a lot of time I’m in the “let’s get it done right now” mode.
Her are some of her favorite things to help with:
folding laundry – which means she takes a shirt and just wads it up and puts in on the right pile of clothes for each family member.
cleaning out the lint trap - she loves to do this. She actually is very good doing this and can even put it back in correctly.
vacuuming- this makes me laugh, when I get ready to vacuum she runs and gets her play one. Most of the time I’m 90% done by the time she gets her toy into the living room.
cooking – she drags her big ol’ chair into the kitchen and wants to stir, cut or “help” anyway she can.
Having a little helper makes me slow down and remember that these times are special, because in just a few years she might not be so willing to help, I should take the help while I can.
