Attacking
I find that when we go to do anything “big” with the youth group or a group at church the enemy (Satan) likes to attack, to get me frustrated, anxious, crabby, upset – basically getting me in a bad mood.
Today was totally one of those moods, I couldn’t sleep last night, I woke up cranky and basically it didn’t change until about 3 hours ago. I felt like the kids were testing me all day, I was yelling at them all day – it just stank.
While we were at the church this afternoon the youth pastor’s wife was very upset, mad at Walter (that’s how I took it). The kids were crying in the backseat because they where hungry and I think it was the breaking point.
As I walked through Safeway tonight, going to get a salad for dinner it hit me – The enemy is attacking. He wants me to be upset at the YP’s wife, he wants me to be angry and cranky with my kids, he wants me to be upset with Walter.
When I got back to where Walter was I basically told him my “revelation” and he said he was feeling it too. We checked out and got in the car and prayed. God’s peace came to all of us. The kids have been great this evening, I’ve been much calmer and hopefully Walter at his meeting at church is gaining a lot of knowledge. Becca even spilt dinner on the floor. If this would have happened this afternoon – oh she would have been yelled at, but I calmly cleaned it up, talked to her and all was well.
It just goes to show the peace that comes from placing our trust in the Lord. The enemy’s attacks are not as powerful as he would like.

There is a time….
Today at Church Pastor Rick preached on Ecclesiastes 3. As Rick was reading the first 8 verses Ben was paying attention.
1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
As Rick read verse 8, Ben leans over to me and says “See mom, even in the bible there is a time for Star Wars, it says so”
So the next time he wants to watch Star Wars and I tell him no, he will start quoting Ecc. 3:8. It’s not quite the purpose of hiding scripture in your heart but it’s a beginning I guess.

Wonderful Walter
I just saw this little test and thought I would take it. See how my man stacks up with the 1930’s husbands. Honestly, he’s that good! I took the test and sadly only scored 55 (average) for a 1930’s wife.

Projects
**FINAL UPDATE: Here it is 11:20 before we need to go and everything is done except for the bag. Also my house isn’t as clean as I would like it to be, but hey – there is always Monday when we get back – oh wait, that day will be spent with LAUNDRY!!! I’ll do both, I found out Ben’s a good vacuumer so I think he has a new chore – YES!
**Update #2: We did pretty good this weekend. I don’t think the bag is going to get made. It’s half done but I need to work tomorrow and then pack us up tomorrow night.
**Update #1: I crossed a few things off my list, I’m off to work on the bag before dinner tonight. I have some funky blue and red paisley print that I think will be really cute.
This weekend I have lots of little projects I want to get done. So where better to put a list of all those things then here on the Internet.
1. Making this bag, not for the kids but fore me when we go to SWC.
2. Go get blood drawn for lab work at the hospital – Saturday Morning.
3. Laundry
4. Defrost 20 lbs of ground beef and cook for spaghetti and nachos for dinner at SWC.
5. Marinate and BBQ (Walter will do this) 30 chicken breast for a dinner at SWC.
6. Laundry
7. Find kids blow up beds and make sure they are ok to go. actually Walter did this, as you know he’s wonderful
8. Write checks and mail bills.
9. Laundry
10. Hem pants for Kristen.
11. Get id bracelets for kids Get when I’m at hosptial getting blood drawn.
12. Laundry
13. Visit posible pre-school for Becca.
14. Wash sleeping bags. More laundry – yikes
11. Start packing clothes. On a side note, my daugher has so many stinkin’ sun dresses! She could wear one a day for the rest of the summer and not repeat probably.
12. Pack toiletries. Started this.
As you can tell I’m slightly uptight about laundry. I actually have to have it all done before I start packing. I want a full selection of clothes to choose from.
I think my list is do-able. Hopefully I can cross them off as I get them done.
